Beautiful Messenger

This Artwork was inspired by the bible verse in Isaiah 52:7.
"How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns!"
I wanted to honor those who dedicate their time, and many times their lives to preach the word of God around the world. Yes, you dear missionary, your feet are beautiful because it brings life where death dared to touch.
This artwork was made with watercolors on 100% cotton paper. At first, I was going to use gold metallic watercolors in an abstract approach with lines and geometric shapes. Instead, I decided to use daisies as a representation of life given as the messenger's feet steps into the ground. The color selection was exactly how I pictured in my head. I used bright oranges and light blues to enhance the skin tones, this approach gave a sense of realism and made the entire figure pop from the white background. For the flowers I used a combination of light greens and yellow. I used some white gouache to enhance their highlights as well as add a separation between the elements.
This artwork as well as prints are now available on my Art Store
